But what we are featuring today is so refreshing as it can be--because it's a Skater Wedding! Tonet and Yus are both passionate about skateboarding and thought that it would be a cool idea to incorporate this on their wedding day. It's definitely not your typical soft and feminine theme at all. And when we say Skater Wedding, as in this is next level complete with a skateboard ramp during the reception!
Bride Tonet shares:
I wore white Vans underneath my dress. He wore black ones and brought our skateboards along. If either could have gotten away with it, We would have ridden our boards down the aisle. We set up a ramp at the reception instead, because one way or another, we were going to skate in our wedding best! We wanted to be rebellious, but to still have a magical day. We wanted a fairy tale Happily-Ever-After, but with skate shoes instead of glass slippers. We combined our like for rustic aesthetics and the modern urbanity of our everyday lives and passions so we decided to do it all ourselves with the help of our family and friends. Nearly everything at our wedding - from invitations, to back-drop, to souvenir, to boutonnieres, bride and entourage flowers, to the photo booth and a myriad of other tiny little details - were DIY. It was stressful and time consuming. But in the end, we did it! And after surviving all the pressures of the wedding preparations, the big day itself was both a breeze and an exciting rush - like a 360 spin into our new lives.
