The Starbucks Proposal

Happy Valentine's Day RBs!!! Initially, I was going to write about V-Day wedding ideas. But I decided against it. I figured, it would feel more inspiring and giddy if I shared this with you instead. This is one of those entries that somehow went to our spam folder once again--it seems to be happening a lot lately so ladies if you really feel strongly about your entries, send it multiple times.

Today is the day we celebrate LOVE. And what better way to do it with a video submission that literally got me teary-eyed. I'm such a sucker for these things haha.

Thank you so much Lizette for sharing this with us. You made my day and I'd like to pay-it-forward by making all the readers feel the butterflies too :)

Dear Rebellious Brides,

Hi I'm Lizette (soon-to-be-bride), I am a huge fan of your blog site, I always visit your site since I got engaged. Btw, I just want to share the unique marriage proposal done by my fiance last October 13, 2012.

This is our story:

My boyfriend migrated to US last 2009, and for the past 2 years and 10 months we are in "LDR". After 2 years and 10 months he went back here in the Philippines to visit me and my family. Considering that he is not a native person in Lipa because he was raised in Manila back then, and it is only his 2nd time to visit me at home, I never had an idea that he already planned a marriage proposal for me. 3 months before he went home last October 9, 2012 (arrival date), he already hired coordinators, videographers and choir thru emails. they really planned it well very discreetly, and as I have said, I really never got an idea. the coordinator even told me that she never had an idea who i was or who i am.

This is how they executed the proposal. That day October 13, 2012 in the afternoon, my boyfriend invited me and asked permission to my mom to go to the coffee shop (starbucks) before I go to work. It was lazy afternoon so I didn't fix myself and wear make-up. when we entered the coffee shop I observed the place seems almost all seats were taken, so I whispered that we should then occupy the seats at the al fresco instead, but my boyfriend insisted to stay inside the shop. After we ordered frapuccino, my boyfriend found vacant seats for us, as I sat on my chair I still had no idea but wondering why all the customers are wearing red, so I just thought that they are just bunch of college students of barkada hanging out. then suddenly those people i've thought "college students" started to sing, and I thought they are just practicing. but i noticed near from our table there a couple held hands and the boy is singing for her girl. So I started to video record the current situation because it is my first to witness a singing mobbed. I even told to my boyfriend "Oh my God baby, magpopropose ata yung guy dun sa girl" and i just received a big smile from him.
